I can forgive, but I cannot forget is only another way of saying, "I will not forgive." Forgiveness ought to be like a canceled note-torn in two and burned up so that it never can be shown against one.
It might seem too idealistic. Something that could only happen in a perfect world.
Yet lets now minimize the situation, a child knocks you with his elbow unintentionally , you are defiantly going to acknowledge the happening, but eventually forgive and forget it even happened.
Forgiving is to be granted by the forgiver and that person is the only one who can determine the magnitude and sincerity of his forgiveness .
It takes a lot of strength to reach the level of forgiveness in which one forgets, yet it is important for us to strive to become more and more forgiving as we go through life because without forgiveness life is governed by an endless cycle of resentment.
